English rock band Wire released the album “Behind the Curtain” in 1995. Now we personally have never listened to it. But we thought it was an interesting little fun fact to start this article with.. as we are taking a peek behind the curtain of hidden sex par ties in Los Angeles. Some of the world’s sexiest, most daring, most exclusive sex clubs are not even a hop a skip and a jump away from us here in the States. They’re all getting down and dirty in Los Angeles, baby. And if you want to take a look inside without signing a blood oath, which is very much required, you better stay tuned right here.
Inside. If you’re looking for someone to thank, turn your attention toward Heather Hauswirth who blessed us with access to these parties via The New York Post. The setting? “A swanky party in Beverly Hills,” she begins. Picture it. One of the first people she sees? Bill Maher… So you know it’s going to be a good night…
Bill. “'Are you a Leo?’ I ask the host of HBO’s 'Real Time,' while eyeing a lion pendant around his neck,” she says. Yes… she’s actually speaking to Bill Maher at a sex party! We were flabbergasted as well. But it turns out Maher was not a Leo, and the lion pendant he was wearing had something to do with membership to this super secret and exclusive club. Interesting…

The crowd. Now to look a little bit deeper… who is in the room? Hauswirth describes the crowd as predominantly young and surprisingly predominantly female. "Around us, a mostly female crowd of models, young professionals, actresses and assistants strut about in couture lingerie, much to the delight of older male guests in tuxedos,” she writes. There are two things we assume. Everyone there is young, and everyone these is hot… And Hauswirth corroborates this.

Snctm. That’s the name of the monthly sex parties. Admittance is by application only, according to the private members’ club’s website. The site reads, "The Club exists to serve the social and entertainment needs of our members and guests by maintaining the highest standards of excellence in all endeavors, by providing creative and culturally rich programs, and by providing a safe and comfortable environment for personal exploration."
Beginnings. It all started back in 2013 when the clubs were formed. It began as Sanctum Club in Beverly Hills.. but went on to become Snctm, “a private members’ club hosting a black tie Masquerade & private Dîner every month, a quarterly Classe teaching fetish & erotic arts, and the spring/summer Pool Party series.” But what goes on behind these closed doors?

Inside. According to the website, "curious individuals experience our fabled erotic theatre and explore their personal desires without judgment.” You are allowed to explore, to taste, to try, and to really delve deep amongst “likeminded elitists with sophisticated taste and style… We enjoy social interaction with individuals of the highest quality."

Press. The parties have been written about by pretty much everyone… Esquire. Maxim. Playboy. HBO. The Daily Beast. Urban Daddy. Goop… that’s Gwyneth Paltrow’s website. E! Entertainment. And The LA Times. So you know these parties have got to be pretty damn good and pretty damn sexy.
Access. There’s a component of the website called the Lion’s Den, where we assume members are allowed to get a closer look on things, like upcoming events, maybe they can even speak to each other. But for our closer look, we’ll have to refer back to Miss. Hauswirth. Let’s talk about money, because these parties are not cheap at all.

Money. "Single men pay $1,850 per party, or $1,500 if they come with a female partner,” Hauswirth writes. "For the erotic elite, there’s an annual Dominus membership for $75,000, which includes admission to all parties, a sterling-silver necklace with a lion pendant and access to private rooms at parties and Lawner’s network of sex experts."

Founder. Oh Lawner, he’s just the founder of the society. Hauswirth writes, "The parties are the brainchild of Damon Lawner, a divorced 45-year-old with two young kids. Lawner founded Snctm in February 2013 after spending years throwing high-end, but not erotic, events in Bali. He now hosts sex parties full-time."
Menu. A live threesome. Yes, you read that correctly. Three people performing a threesome in front of everyone at the party. As well as what Hauswirth called a “sexy fire-eating show.” Which sounds.. sure, sexy. But also.. very, very dangerous? What kind of guys go to these events you’re probably wondering. Well.. Bill Maher, for a start.
Men. Lawner told Hauswirth, "Some are married guys that just want to know how to give better [pleasure] … They don’t get this type of thing anywhere else.” And if you’re wondering as women what the price is to attend… absolutely nothing. Zip. Zilch. Women can attend the parties for free. On one condition..

Accepted. "Women don’t pay to attend Snctm parties, but they must apply by submitting full-length photos via text or email to Lawner or his operations director, Nicolas de la Kethulle, who previously worked as a manager of the Beverly Hills Hotel Polo Lounge,” Hauswirth writes.
You. Sex parties… Yeah, they really do happen. And they’re just as exclusive and fun and crazy and wild as you’d expect them to be. But what do you think about sex parties? Would you be interested in attending one? Or is that.. not really your scene? We want to hear from you, so let us know in the comments section below what you think, what you feel!
