Some people bring sex toys into the bedroom, some people bring another into the bedroom and some people bring... hypnosis into the bedroom. It's not the most common addition, but it happens. At least... well... OK, maybe it's not on the top of most people's lists, but it definitely exists. The only question is — are you willing to give it a shot yourself? Do you trust your partner enough to allow them into your head? Keep reading to discover if you should add sexual hypnosis into your repertoire.

Spicing things up. Most couples are looking to shake things up in the bedroom. They’ve done this, they’ve done that — but they’re tired of sticking to the same predictable routine. They want something more. As it turns out, “something more” might be easier to get their hands on than they may have expected.
Erotic Hypnotism — it’s a thing. While you might naturally associate sex with hypnosis (and probably for good reason), that’s not to say that the pairing doesn’t actually work really well. In a nutshell, it’s exactly what it sounds like (you combine hypnosis with sex), but in a broader sense, it’s about exploring sex without letting your pesky mind get in the way.

Totally legitimate. Before you write this off completely, just keep in mind that it’s absolutely legit. Some people may not “believe” in hypnotism, but that’s not to say it isn’t real. The human brain is a peculiar thing, and it’s a hell of a lot more pliable than we give it credit for — which is exactly hypnosis is perfect for it.

Making things interesting… So if you want to keep things interesting in the bedroom, giving hypnotism may not be your only solution, but it’s definitely something to consider. But why just take the opinion of writer? The best way to learn about more erotic hypnotism is to hear from an erotic hypnotist himself.
Firsthand. Alexandra Warrick of The Tab reached out to an erotic hypnotist, who goes by the name “Sterling.” He points out that his daily life and his nightly life are absolutely separate and couldn’t possibly be more different. You know, because of the hypnotism…

Private sessions with a professional. After his ordinary day work has ended for the day, he becomes someone else. He offers private sessions of erotic hypnosis to anyone willing to give it a try. It’s certainly a unique profession, but it’s something that certainly has us wanting to give it a go.

Hyper-focus. So how exactly does it all work? According to Sterling, it comes down to hyper-focus. He needs to get his clients into a state of absolute relaxation in order for all of this to work, and once he’s gotten them there, that’s when things start to get interesting. This is when he has them, whether they realize it or not (which they likely won’t, seeing as they’re being hypnotized).
The cell phone trance. Sterling points out to people, especially those who absolutely don’t believe in the power of hypnosis, that we’re kind of hypnotizing ourselves on a daily basis without even realizing it. The simple act of getting lost in your phone is a form of hypnosis. It doesn’t seem like it, since you’re probably picturing hypnosis to be however it’s been portrayed in the movies, but that’s exactly what it is.

Susceptible people. First of all, if you want to be hypnotized, you need to be mentally prepared, which is to say, you need to rely on your brain’s basic functions. Some people are more sensitive, and some people aren't. But if you aren't, then hypnosis may not be in your bag, sorry to say.

Skillfully willing. Once you figured out that you’re totally capable of being hypnotized, it’s going to take work on your part, believe it or not. Not only do you have to be willing, you need to have the mental capacity for what’s about to go down. As Sterling points out, you need to have a serious grip on your ability to concentrate and focus, otherwise it might all have been for naught.
Hypnokink. Even in erotic hypnosis, there are deeper sexual kinks. So it’s pretty much a kink within a kink, and it’s referred to as hypnokink. As Sterling mentions, it tends to be more popular among the BDSM crowd. You’re basically allowed to embrace specific kinks while also under hypnosis. There’s certainly a lot going on all at once.

The wild side. Now, if you’re going to be hypnotized, or if you’re going to be the hypnotist yourself, then you may as well have fun, right? That’s certainly what Sterling things. One time, during hypnokink, she made a woman genuinely believe that her breasts had fallen off. It’s a bit insane, but seeing as the breasts didn’t
actually fall off, it’s all good.

All in good fun. As serious as hypnosis might seem, it's really not quite as intense as it appears. It just depends on who's at the reins. With erotic hypnosis, as long as there's consent, it's perfectly innocent. Just as long as no one’s making anyone do anything that is bordering offensive.
Fact vs. fiction. Some people have this idea of what hypnosis is, and for the most part, they're wrong. They tend to make it seem more intense than it is. They tend to turn it into a spectacle, when really, hypnosis isn't all that out here. It's pretty solidly grounded in reality.
Opening doors. Even if the concept of erotic hypnosis kind of wigs you out, try not to let it. If nothing else, it's just a new way to make yourself more open to experimentation. It broadens your horizons. It shakes up the ordinary and adds some spice to an otherwise routine sex life.
