It’s been a wild year in the good ol' U.S. of A. Donald Trump is, in spite of our best efforts, the U.S. President-elect. Ted Cruz was revealed to the be the notorious Zodiac Killer. And Kanye West has confirmed a run for presidency in 2020. Like we said, it’s been a wild year. But somehow, things just got a little wilder: You can now download oral sex right off the Internet. Legally. Indeed, a new system is here to sell American penis-havers virtual blowies. Can 2016 get bizarre? Let's hope not. Here, we highlight everything you need to know about the revolutionary trend.
BlowCast. Dubbed “the iTunes of blowjobs,” BlowCast makes it so that users can purchase (fake) BJs from CamSoda (the company that offered Ken Bone 100 grand to do a naughty livestream) models. These models then simulate oral sex through a program that sends signals to a vibrating sleeve being used by the consumer. In short, it’s a virtual on-demand BJ. Seems simple enough, right?
How it works. A brief break down of how the system works: BlowCast allows a customer to purchase a simulated BJ from dozens of amateur and professional cam girls. A cam model interested in offering oral is given a Kiiroo Pearl, which is a vibrating dildo that has been programmed by the company to collect sensory data while the model “fellates the device,” Vice’s Motherboard explains, adding: "This data is then uploaded to a repository on BlowCast and a user can select a blowjob based on the model and user reviews.”

How it works. Meanwhile, the customer is dealing with a whole different deck of cards. They have an Internet-connected “sleeve” — basically a Fleshlight — which gathers the sensory data from the cam girl’s phallic sex toy and then reproduces it in the sleeve. When coupled with a video feed, the entire experience should feel like you’re receiving a very real
and very satisfying BJ.

The models. There are currently 50 “experiences” available, meaning there are 50 cam girls up on the site. Each has an official biography so that the customer can get to know a little more about who they’re “interacting” with, so to speak. Usually, each model — all women for now — offers three different downloadable options with names like “gently loving,” “all in,” and so on.
Challenges. Sounds great, right? Not so fast. Although the process sounds pretty ideal in theory, in practice there are some technical challenges. “This does not feel like real sex with someone, but it’s the best thing that's out there yet,” CamSoda president Daron Lundeen explained to Vice’s Motherboard. “It transfers what’s occurring, so you feel exactly what the girls are doing on the device.”

Security. Of course, security — or lack thereof — is also an issue. Over the years, hackers have proved that teledildonics — a.k.a. technology for remote sex — are vulnerable to security breaches, and thus, third party access. This is alarming for a number of reasons.

Security. First, there’s the whole privacy thing. Not only is a customer’s sexual business out there for the world to see if hacked, their billing information is also available. One word: Fraud. Talk about a double whammy. But that’s not all. There’s also a potential health risk to worry about when it comes to the security of the devices.
Health risk. So exactly what is the health risk, you ask? Say someone actually hacks into a customer’s device and decides to mess with them. Like, really mess with them. An easy way to do this? By simply applying pressure on the device so that it straps tighter and tighter around the user's penis. Ouch.

Discussions. Of course, BlowCast and the Kiiroo network are very well aware of the security risks. “On the CamSoda side we do a lot to protect our users, but the device does use Kiiroo’s network so we’re trusting them to manage their devices,” Lundeen told Motherboard. “But you can’t not offer a new technology to people because you’re afraid there might be some hacker out there.”

More to come. Security risks aside, CamSoda views BlowCast as just the tip (heh) of the iceberg when it comes to simulated sex on the Internet. For instance, if the model has one of CamSoda’s hacked dildos and the user has a sleeve, then the oral sex can occur in real time instead of being downloaded from a pre-recorded library of blowies.
More to come. In addition, Lundeen told Motherboard that he hopes “non-professionals” will eventually also start to host and record their own virtual BJs on the site. While they’d surely be able to do this for income, Lundeen believes most would simply undergo the task to stroke their own ego. Oh, humanity.

More to come. If not to stroke their ego, Lundeen hopes that people will begin using the service out of mere curiosity. “There's a lot of people out there curious about how they stack up,” he explained to Motherboard. “We'll ship the recording device to anybody so anybody can submit a blowjob. This is real people having a real virtual sex experience.”

Sexual exploration. Lundeen also told Motherboard that he sees BlowCast as a safe “place” that people can use as an outlet for sexual exploration. He views the platform as a “virtual glory hole,” where the source of the BJ can remain anonymous if desired. In other words, the customer won't know whether they’re receiving oral sex from a man, woman, or someone who doesn’t identify as either.
Cost. If you think the entire process costs a fortune, we’ve got some surprising news: It’s actually pretty cheap. As Motherboard notes, the prices for these on-demand BJs are, in fact, reasonable: "BlowCast only hosts simulated blow jobs from 50 different female models who work with CamSoda. If a customer has the $250 to spend on the sleeve, then they can access all of these blowj*bs for free for the first 30 days. After that, all [oral] will be available for a one-time fee of $1 each.”
Bottom line. The takeaway? Technology is on the rise, and so are men’s boners. While BlowCast is just starting with oral sex it eventually plans to offer not only vaginal sex, but anal as well. Judging by this, dry spells will be a thing of the past by 2020. Thanks, science!
