Plenty of couples would go to great lengths to improve their bedroom lives. But, what if the key to some better, more frequent lovin' between the sheets was doing some household chores? A recent study has shown that couples who share chores tend to have an overall better love life. Here's why couples who share the housework burden are having better sex!
Many households tend to operate with the female as the main contributor when it comes to doing household chores.
This model is based on the idea that a man should be the "breadwinner," while the woman should keep to the house.

With more and more women working just as hard, and earning just as much, as their male counterparts, such stigmas are becoming less and less accepted.

A study conducted by the University of Alberta tested the effects of couples sharing chores.
The study found that when both the male and female in a relationship shared chores, they tended to have better and more frequent intercourse.

The recent study analyzed data from an older study, which was conducted on 1,338 German couples.

The German study had investigated the link between a male partner's contributions to chores, and overall sexual satisfaction in the relationship.
It measured the males' contribution to housework, as well as the females' perceived fairness of their partners' contibutions.
The couples who equally shared their chores reported having greater sexual satisfaction than those who did not share the burden.

This finding is most likely based on the concept of respect.
Couples who shared their household duties felt that they had a mutual respect for each other.
This study strongly goes against other studies that suggest that men who partake in household duties, tend to have less frequent sex, since some females may see this as emasculating.

So, the key to a happy and healthy relationship (at least between the sheets) is, simply, respect.
There's something about knowing you're invested in an equal partnership that really gets a lady going.
